Trip: Cameron Hut
Sat 27 Apr 2019 to Sun 28 Apr 2019
Organiser: Jarren Beckett
Cameron Hut is a 9-bunk Canterbury Mountaineering Club hut in the Arrowsmith Range, South Canterbury. The hut is famous for it's purple door and spectacular surroundings (especially if there has been some snowfall). The hut is a decent 15.6km tramp up the valley which we will aim to complete in 6hrs, tramping experience and a good level of fitness will be required. The unmarked route is rough in places and can present a mission depending on the weather and river levels. We will depart the UCSA car park at 8am Saturday morning and aim to return by 6pm Sunday. Check the website gear list for advice on what to bring, sturdy tramping boots are required (gaiters recommended). The hut is not a DOC hut, so passes and tickets cannot be used. We will confirm whether we are staying in the hut or tenting depending on numbers.
Trip cost $20 for fuel payable on the day and $5 to stay in the hut (TBA).
